Short Sale

A short sale is a sale of a property for less money than is owed to the bank. An example would be if the owner of a property owes 100K on the property mortgage to the bank. You negotiate with the bank to purchase the home for 80K. Once the bank agrees to this new price, the property becomes a short sale. You will save 20K on the purchase of this home.
