The Best United States Cities for Jobs

Best Cities Jobs

Even though the economy is not in great condition, there are still cities in this country which are thriving and full of job opportunities for the people who live there. These cities, besides doing well economically, are also creating new jobs to the mix.

The largest sectors of the economy that are creating jobs are those that are involved in technology and energy. Despite some serious obstacles that needed to be overcome, many cities have overcome their major problems and are standing tall on their own.

A great example of this is the resurgence of the San Francisco metropolitan area, which is now one of the top-ranked cities in the United States when it comes to economy. It has expanded 4.1% since the year 2008, which is a great improvement.

A major reason for the decline of San Francisco was the major decline in Internet companies after the big dot com bust. When it comes to job growth in San Francisco, there is 0.6% more jobs in San Francisco.

Santa Clara also saw a similar percentage of growth.

Even though there are many more cities that have grown in the state, most of the cities are still in the lower or middle range. For example, Los Angeles has lost 120,000 since 2001.

Texas has been faring better than California. They have four major cities that are doing well economically – Houston, Ft. Worth, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. Oil is one of their major exports and biggest industries.

Nashville, Tennessee is also improving greatly. It showed a 3.8% expansion in employment last year and has shown a 3.8% expansion in its economy overall since 2008.

Chicago also is coming back from the longtime rut it was in.

Surprisingly, New York City has benefited from the government’s too big to fail policies for banks.
