Green Brick, a real estate developer based in Plano, Texas, will build 2,100 homes near Ray Roberts Lake
One of the largest residential developers in the city of Plano, Texas, is preparing to build around 2,100 new homes on a lot of approximately 227 hectares, near the border between Denton and Cooke counties.
Green Brick Partners, headquartered in Plano, Texas, has just acquired the first parcel of land intended for its Burks Ranch neighborhood, which will be located near Ray Roberts Lake, very close to Pilot Point in Cooke County.
Jed Dolson, president and chief operating officer of Green Brick, stated that construction of the homes should begin in about two years; and the project will include a resort-style pool, parks, trails for walking or biking, a shared amenity center, and a large preserved natural space.
Trophy Signature Homes, part of Green Brick, will lead the construction of the homes in the new neighborhood.
Although additional information about the project and estimated timelines is still pending publication, Jed Dolson noted that the team considers Burks Ranch to be a long-term project, lasting at least 10 years.
Dolson also mentioned that if construction were to start today, the price would be under $400,000. For comparison, the average cost of a home in Denton County reached $440,000 in January, according to figures from the MetroTex Association of Realtors.
Dolson also added that the company expects to close the purchase of the second parcel of land in approximately 18 months.
Green Brick Partners is currently the third-largest homebuilder in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, with numerous communities in the Celina and Pilot Point areas.
“We like land close to employment centers and will continue to look for competitively priced properties in those areas,” concluded Mr. Dolson.
