{"id":6251,"date":"2024-11-12T12:52:27","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T12:52:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.foreclosurelistings.com\/news\/?p=6251"},"modified":"2024-11-12T12:52:27","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T12:52:27","slug":"leesburg-virginia-council-approves-data-center-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.foreclosurelistings.com\/news\/foreclosure-market\/leesburg-virginia-council-approves-data-center-development","title":{"rendered":"Leesburg, Virginia Council Approves Data Center Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A new data center project has been approved by the members of the Leesburg Town Council, who have given the green light to the city&#8217;s rezoning so that it can be carried out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This rezoning decision, made by the Leesburg Town Council in Loudoun County, Virginia, will allow the construction of data centers and other industrial uses on two vacant land parcels south of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Springfield East, LC, and the real estate company Kettler Inc., the applicants, asked the city to modify the conceptual plan for these lands known as Village at Leesburg Land Bays D&amp;E, which will allow the data center to be implemented.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This developer partnership plans to build a data center and a related substation on one of the parcels, located at 42830 Golf Club Road and 1749 Russell Branch Parkway SE, covering 33.77 acres. Council documents indicate that the data center could cover between 200,000 and 250,000 square feet on the two parcels, which are located on the east side of Crosstrail Boulevard and are divided by Russell Branch Parkway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As for the applicants, the real estate firm Kettler Inc. was established in 1977 and generally focuses on multifamily housing developments; meanwhile, Springfield East, LC has explored numerous development opportunities over the last 20 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With land that has remained unused for many years because the developable portion of the property is too small and irregularly shaped to be feasible for most industrial projects, making the development of this property difficult, the applicants wish to take on the challenge.
