In the United States, finding lands for sale has become quite easy over the years. The National Association of Realtors provides a complete list of its member brokers and also gives important tips for buying properties or lands for sale. Several federal government departments also have regular land sale or auction programs of properties, both new and repossessed.

Pat Combs, President, National Association of Realtors, mentioned in a press conference held January 9 that people who are planning for the purchase of a home or a property should contact a registered realtor for taking advantage of the present congenial real estate environment. Prospective buyers should heed his advice. While looking at lands for sale, it is best to have the guidance of a professional real estate broker. He will clarify the pros and cons of each property and help you in making an informed decision.

Combs pointed out that the median appreciation in property values over the last six years was more than 50 percent. He added that sellers were getting a fair return on their investments but held that buyers were definitely in a position of superior negotiation due to the rise in the quantum of properties on offer. Combs maintained that this was probably the best time for purchase since 2001 in some parts of the country. As such, it is clear that lands and properties for sale are swelling and the opportunity should not be allowed to pass by unutilized.

A look at the treasury auctions of the various government departments will reveal that lands available for sale remain unabated. Land sales and auction programs by the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Marshals Service, the General Services Administration, and various other government departments are available on the Internet. A prospective buyer can go through all the lands or properties available for sale and choose the one that best suits him/her.

A survey reveals that there could be a sluggish growth in about three-quarters of the United States. Other areas are likely to contract in the first part of the year. The survey expects that value gains in 2007 would be modest comparatively. It is obvious that the supply will exceed demand. The prospect of prices coming down is bright. Lands for sale will be on the rise and prices are expected to be steady, if not marginally lower. This is the right time to buy. Seize the opportunity.
