The stress and anxiety due to foreclosures is telling on the health of the people right across the country, according to a recent study. It found a link between certain ailments leading to visits to the emergency room and hospitals and foreclosures. The states worst hit by the foreclosure crisis came under the study while the age group range 29 to 49.

In Madison County foreclosures are pulling down the price of properties in the neighbourhoods; it is worst where there are clusters of foreclosed units. Experts think that unless the unemployment scenario improves foreclosures will continue. In the city the assessed value of real property fell in 2010 by 3.5% from 2009.

With the start of the new rule that mediation has to precede non-judicial foreclosure in Hawaii, the numbers of foreclosure lawsuits have increased while non-judicial numbers have declined. Critics contend that the law is defective as heavy penalties are imposed for small transgression.

Many Americans (36 %) think that loan rates will increase in 2012. Rents are also apprehended to increase; and there are many Americans who feel that they would rent a home rather than pay for it. Around 77 % say that the economy is not proceeding on the right path. The financial situation, people say, will not improve.

With much fanfare it has been announced that banks are sending letters to millions of previous homeowners. If they think they have been wronged they will get a chance to have their cases reviewed. But critics contend that the reviewers are sub-standard personnel incapable of dealing with complex legalities and there is no transparency as regards measuring compensation.

A new law in Nevada will give more protection to the house owners. The banks would have to give the information that they have the right to proceed with a foreclosure sale. The house owners will also have the right to see the data.
