The stress and anxiety due to foreclosures is telling on the health of the people right across the country, according to a recent study. It found a link between certain ailments leading to visits to the emergency room and hospitals and foreclosures. The states worst hit by the foreclosure crisis came under the study while the age group range 29 to 49.

A bill has been introduced by two senators (Republican and Democrat) sending an open invitation to the rich overseas to buy residences in USA. They would have to pay a minimum amount in cash to make the full purchase. Tourist visas would be granted to them and not work visas. It is hoped that this would clear up the stockpile of properties languishing in the market.

Obama is using pressure tactics to make the rebel attorney generals come down from their stand and agree to the settlement deal with the banks. The recalcitrant attorney generals do not want a $20 billion settlement but a $200 billion one. But aside from the amount the people have a right to know what led to the foreclosure crisis.

There was mixed reaction from the onlookers viewing the protest demonstrators participating in Occupy Wall Street. One felt that their demands were justified but the anger should be directed against the legislators and not the banks.New York’s Mayor said they could stay on so long as they abided by the law.

The states where the foreclosures are the highest are also the regions with biggest number of voters. Both parties will spend a lot of money in the general elections next year. These people are targeted for the refinance option. If it succeeds then the President could reap good rewards – crucial for his re-election.

A closer look should focus on what happens to those who exit with their families from the foreclosed houses. Researches think that mortgage counseling should be accompanied by social advising. Also the government should be more proactive to help the struggling house owners so as to prevent further harm.

Not all in Nevada with the comments of Republican Romney about allow foreclosures to reach the bottom. He has been criticized for thinking that houses are only investments and not homes where people stay. Romney was speaking about Nevada– one of the worst hit states.
