Julie, Appreciate your website but I am confused and do not know what to do. i bought a house, then had to quit work due to injuries. The legal aid lawyer here said to just move out and i would not owe anything on the mortgage, so i did. However, the bank foreclosed and Judge brought a summary judgment against me for more than I even owed on the house, incluing a 3rd mortgage I was promised in writing i did not owe. The legal aid lawyer had promised he'd file for me, but then said we didn't need to, so when faced with court papers i myself answered and included proof i did not owe the 3rd mortgage. i still lost! I am unable to work now and am so afraid with a $52,000 judgment over me, on a defective lhouse that is not worth that much. I was scammed on the house sale, too. I just wanted a home of my own. Once I moved out, the bank locked up the house so I could lnot have shown it to sell it. The bank did not sell it to mitigate my) losses. Since i have no control over the house and the bank could have sold it to lower what I owed, I don't see lhow this could possibly be fair. I have tried the pa. office of Consumer Protection, but they rarely help and I am at a loss as to what to do.
