The Foreclosure Crisis has Downed Shutters on Days of Giving Replacing it with Days of Taking

foreclosure crisis has downed shutters

The foreclosure crisis has downed shutters on days of giving replacing it with an age of taking. In Tracy, California there was a news item that read “Tracy residents will now have to pay every time they call 911 for a medical emergency. But there are a couple of options. Residents can pay a $48 voluntary fee for the year, which allows them to call 911 as many times as necessary. Or there’s the option of not signing up for the annual fee. Instead they will be charged $300 if they make a call for help.”
It was welcome sign to the lean years ahead. America has completed seven fat decades that had been overflowing with freedom and prosperity that had been the handiwork of the Greatest Generation. They started from scratch and started off universities, firms, charity, townships, lowering revenues and making grants.

Today there is the feeling of entering a new age “where the great task of the government and of leadership is going to be about taking things away from people” said Michael Mandelbaum of John Hopkins University.
The work of the leaders of today is to snip, to fire and cut down size of services, plans or employees. America has shifted from the era of handouts being doled by the government to era of citizens giving back. Previously there were free air tickets for companions but now the citizens will have to cough up dollars for each piece of luggage.

The minimum hope is that the lean period will not cross seven years. It depends on the people of America and how they respond to the challenges of the economy triggered by the foreclosure crisis. The present generation spawned by the previous Greatest Generation has been dubbed as The Grasshopper Generation by author Kurt Anderson. This bunch is eating through the prosperity handed down by the previous generation like gluttonous locusts.
The call has come for regeneration from the generation coming up – it will have to renew and refresh, get re-energized to rebuild a new America suitable for the 21st century.

The bad luck of Obama was that he debuted at a time when America shifted from the fat to the lean era. His call is now to give the lead to the regeneration. He comprehends this personally but has not yet articulated it properly and clearly.
