Foreclosure Crisis Compelling Women Staying At Home To Search For Side Jobs

The foreclosure related crisis has turned the social picture upside down. Women who stay at home are now looking earnestly for side jobs to supplement the dwindling income of the family.

Tupperware is on top of the list. It deals with direct sales and is much sought after by the women at home. Even workingwomen are looking for similar jobs to tide over the foreclosure crisis.

With the stock market swinging back and forth the banks are collapsing causing foreclosures to have the last laugh. Tupperware consultant Marie Keith said that she started getting afraid and decided something has to be done to help the family. Since she had extra time she decided to turn to Tupperware. Previously she was a dot comer. After the 9/11 drama she made her first debut with Tupperware. Its products are excellent and time tested. Marie was so successful that she won a minivan! With foreclosures making the times hard again, Marie who is the mother of three, knows where to look for help with an unerring instinct. She added, “There are so many things I want my kids to do.” Everything – soccer, brownies, dancing and swimming, all cost extra dollars. Inflation has made things complex.

Everywhere women are seeking to engage themselves in direct sales. They are dealing in a variety of items – jewellery, cookware, candles etc. To do so they are hosting parties where they show off their items and even take on others to boost sales.

Heather Nash lives in Vallejo with her husband. They bought the house in 2007 and have taken a beating this year. They bought it for $500,000 but now it is worth only $200,000. Not the one to easily succumb, Heather began selling candles for Gold Canyon. The firm also deals with body care products. Heather had an invaluable advice to give, “If you’re a stay-at-home mom or even if you have a job this is still something you can do whenever you want to be your own boss.”

Both Heather and Marie feel that working from home allows for flexibility. They can give more time to their children and yet continue to earn. The money earned is not to be sneezed and does help out with the family budget – especially in these days when foreclosures are having the last say. It is a small but effective way of battling the cloud.
